Music Project Volunteer Training Info
Welcome to the Ancient Secrets Foundation Music Project page! Here is where you can find information about being a volunteer with this project. Below you will find video and written instructions on how to create the artist page, album and song products for each musical offering. We will also have an FAQ section for you as we get repeat questions.

Start Here: Training Video
Here are the shorthand written instructions. If you have not watched the training video in full, please do that first as these are simply for quick reference/reminders and are not a substitute for watching and following along with the training video.
Steps
- Go to https://ancientsecretsfoundation.org/wp-admin/ and log in with your provided username and password.
- Add a new product
- Start by adding all songs for an album
- Product name: “Artist’s Name – Album’s Name (or Untitled) – Song’s Name”
- Product Description: What’s been provided in the spreadsheet for the song, album, or artist PLUS add the following at the end:
“All music presented as part of the ASF Music Project is here by the artist’s consent. All proceeds go to benefit the Foundation’s efforts in supporting orphanages and those in need.”
- Product Categories:
- Select “ASF Music Project”
- Create category called “Artist’s Name – Album’s Name” and choose a parent category of “ASF Music Project”
- Product Data:
- Check “Virtual”, “Downloadable” and “Name Your Price”
- Minimum Price ($) is $1.50 for individual song
- Downloadable files: Add file; set Song Name and Choose file to upload/select MP3
- Tax status/class are None/Zero rate.
- Product image: “Set product image” Use whatever album art was given by the artist. If not, search for “Music Project Default Album Image” and choose that one.
- Music Player for WooCommerce: Select “Include music player”
- Double-check everything looks good and then click Publish
- To add the next album song(s) quickly,
- Next to Publish click “Copy to a new draft”
- Update the Product name and Permalink
- Update the Downloadable files section with the song’s MP3
- Click Publish and repeat as needed!
- Once all songs under an album are created, then you create the album product page.
- Click “Copy to a new draft” from the last song created
- Update the Product name and Permalink so it reflects just the artist’s name – album name
- Update the Minimum Price ($) for the album. Pricing is split into two methods:
- If there are 8 or less songs: (number of songs) * $1.50 == new min price
- If there are 9 or more songs: $12.75 is new min price
- Update the Downloadable files section with the all MP3s in that album. Drag and reorder as needed.
- Product Categories: Create a new category with just the artist’s name and set its parent category to the ASF Music Project
- Click Publish
- Repeat above steps for any remaining ablums/songs for this artist. When all music has been entered, go to next step.
- Start by adding all songs for an album
- Add new page: Add artist page to house information, images, videos about the artist as well as all of their albums.
- Title is Artist’s Name
- On the right, under the Page settings:
- Change Author to AncientSecrets
- Page Attributes: For Parent, search for “Music Project” and select that option (this is vitally imporant!)
- In main text area under title:
- Add Featured Image block. Use artist’s provided photo/image. If not provide, search for “Music Project Default Artist Image” and use the default.
- Add description/bio provided.
- Add any YouTube videos provided using the YouTube block
- Add the “Products by Category” block; search for the artist’s name and select it; on the right in the Block settings, adjust the rows as needed to show all ablums.
- Click Publish and then click Publish again to finalize after a quick review.
